Our Mission
The William & Mary Law School Elder & Disability Law Clinic was established in 2012 to assist the growing need for support and advocacy of the elderly in Hampton Roads. We recognize that the aging process can have an impact not only on the elderly, but also on their family members. Our mission is to provide the necessary services to assist all of those involved in preparing for the future, as well as handling unexpected legal and financial events that may arise along the way. We assist seniors in managing immediate legal issues, in planning for long-term care needs, in creating necessary documents to ensure their privacy and protection, and in advocating for necessary services and resources. The Clinic gives second- and third-year law students the opportunity to utilize and further their legal training while serving our community.
